3 weeks ago i’ve been working in Qatar and i had the chance to visit the National Museum. Well, (with the maximum respect), there’s not so much history footsteps in the desert, but i had to say that the Qatar national museum is probably one of the best designed museum in the world. Let’s not talk about the architecture side (fuckin unbelievable monsieur Nouvel, all my respect) let’s focus on the interior display concept: all the museum is a descent route, with six permanent family exhibits, each of them with a big interactive separate areas for kids. In one of those areas children experience what it’s like to dig up archaeological treasures in a digitally projected desert and learn what these objects tell about how people lived in the past. Sounds quite ordinary in therms of project, but the experience is amazing. Probably for the amount of money invested in tech and creativity? i think so!
I’ve tried to take some panoramic picture and some videos to make you understand how well done and how big are the children space.
First time in my life my children asked to make a second route through the museum.
